Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 May 2026. This page describes how Pacey Studio (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use this website (pacey.studio). It is provided for transparency; if you need legal advice tailored to your situation, you should speak to a qualified professional.

Who we are

The data controller is Dan Pacey, trading as Pacey Studio, a web design and development business based in Hebden Bridge, United Kingdom. For data protection queries you can contact us at hello@pacey.studio.

What data we collect and why

Browsing the site. When you visit, standard network requests are handled by our hosting provider and, where assets are loaded from third parties (for example fonts), those providers receive technical data needed to deliver the service (typically including your IP address and basic request metadata). We do not run first-party analytics or advertising trackers on this site.

Contact form. If you use the form, we collect the details you enter: name, business name, email address, phone number, and your message. We use this information only to read and respond to your enquiry. We do not use it for automated profiling or marketing lists unless you later agree to that separately.

How your message is delivered

Submissions are sent by our website to Resend, an email delivery service, which transmits the message to our inbox. Resend processes the content of your message and your contact details on our behalf as a service provider. Their privacy information is published on their site. Our mailbox may be hosted with a separate provider (for example encrypted email); if so, that provider will also process the message when it arrives in our account.

We do not operate a customer database on this website: we do not store form submissions in a database or CRM solely from this static site’s code path. The copy of your enquiry exists in our email (and, for a limited time, in normal service logs our providers may keep according to their own policies).

Cookies and similar technologies

We do not intentionally use cookies for analytics, personalisation, or advertising, and our own front-end scripts do not set cookies for those purposes. Our contact flow uses Astro server actions over HTTPS rather than storing data in the browser.

Third-party services you connect to by loading the page may apply their own rules. We load fonts from Adobe Fonts. Adobe’s policy for website use states that Adobe does not set or use cookies solely to serve those fonts; it may still process limited technical information to operate the font service.

Cookie banners. In the UK and EU, rules such as PECR/ePrivacy focus on storing or accessing information on a user’s device (often via cookies) and on certain types of marketing technology. Practices vary, but many low-tracking brochure sites that only use strictly necessary processing and disclose third parties in a privacy policy do not show a large “accept cookies” banner. That can change if you add analytics, embeds, or advertising pixels. You should confirm your position with a professional if you are unsure, especially if Adobe or hosting logs are interpreted as requiring consent in your context.

Legal bases (UK / GDPR-style)

Where UK GDPR applies, we rely on legitimate interests to operate and secure the website and to handle routine enquiries, and on contract / pre-contract steps when you ask us to respond about a project. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests in appropriate cases.

Retention

We keep email correspondence only as long as we need it to manage the relationship, comply with law, or resolve disputes, then delete or archive it according to our normal business practices.

Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. For UK visitors, the ICO is the supervisory authority ( ico.org.uk).

International transfers

Email delivery and some infrastructure may involve processing outside the UK. Where required, we expect providers to offer appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) as described in their documentation.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.

Disclaimer

This policy is based on how the site is built today and is not a substitute for legal advice. Your obligations depend on your circumstances, traffic, and any changes you make to the stack (analytics, chat widgets, maps, etc.).
